A new Italian in White Plains
" An edit from The Journal News November 18, 2007"

With La Bocca, an intimate, earthy-colored space tucked into the Renaissance Business Center, restaurateur Tony Spiritoso - who also owns Spiritoso's in Yonkers and La Tavola Calda in Mamaroneck - is clearly hoping to ride the gussying-up trend in downtown White Plains.

The restaurant holds the promise of original regional Italian cuisine which opened Sept. 10, has an authentic antipasto table, lengthy wine list and stylish presentation and tableware - all of which hint at loftier ambitions. Spiritoso reports that he intends to introduce "old dishes" and game meats (bison, venison, rabbit, boar) this winter, as well as more fine seafood.

"We use a lot of imported products from Italy," says Spiritoso. "Burrata, buffalo mozzarella, olive oil. It makes a difference in the food."
